Bio

Hi! I’m Mazey, I was born in Salem, Oregon in 1991. I grew up in an agricultural area with my large and diverse family. My mother, Kim, was adopted from Korea in 1956 to a family in Oklahoma. She met my father in California in the 80’s and moved to Oregon in 89’ to raise me and my 3 siblings. Growing up in a large family, I found art and music to be a source of comfort in many ways. Over the years, I’ve come to learn many instruments and art forms. I consider music to be my first language.

I currently resided in Portland, Oregon where I’ve lived since 2009. Since living in Portland, I’ve graduated from the Oregon Culinary Institute with an associates degree in restaurant management and a diploma in baking & pastry (2011); and PNCA (Pacific Northwest College of Art) with a BFA in sculpture and art & ecology (2021).

As a community member, artist, and teacher, I actively engage in the power of play to investigate and express complex geometries.
